In much of rural and semi-urban India, the nearest bank branch is a bus ride away and a smartphone banking app assumes a level of digital confidence many people simply do not have. What those places do have is a shop, and a shopkeeper the neighbourhood already trusts with money.

Jan Lok Seva equips that shopkeeper. A customer walks in with cash and asks for a transfer to a son in another state, or for the electricity bill to be settled. The retailer completes it from their own prepaid wallet, takes the cash, and earns a commission.

We are a technology layer over licensed partners. Money transfer runs on a regulated payment partner’s payout rails, bill payments over the Bharat Connect (BBPS) network, and insurance — where offered — under a licensed intermediary with each retailer registered as a certified POSP.
